About our founder
Established in 2023 by Dr Eman, a consultant since 2014
In 2023, Dr Eman Alnaggar established Her Health Clinic in Murdoch. She says: “It was perfect timing. Having a family of my own, I first started in the public sector, allowing me to combine being a consultant with my own young family. Now that my children are older, the longing to build long-term connections with patients became so strong that I decided to establish Her Health Clinic here in Murdoch.”
Dr Eman Alnaggar grew up in Egypt, in a family of doctors. She decided to become an obstetrician/gynaecologist when – at med school – she saw a woman giving birth to twins vaginally. “I still can see this mother’s face and in that moment I knew what my calling was. Being able to witness the moment that someone becomes a parent for the very first time, is a privilege, even when it’s complicated or problematic.”
Flexibility at its core: Adapting to your specific needs
Dr Eman’s medical expertise is just the beginning. Women or families often need support beyond clinical expertise. She says: “That is what I am best known for: if someone is anxious, I will psychologically support them. If they need space, I will allow for that. I strive to give each patient what they need from me.”
From the pyramids to the outback: A rich history of care
Dr Eman’s story began in Egypt, in a setting where blood resources were scarce, with incredible clinicians striving to overcome that challenge. “I was passionate and green, witnessing women’s struggles during labour due to the lack of blood products. It was heart-wrenching, yet it kindled a fire in me.”
Then, Dr Eman moved to Qatar, in a high-volume unit with 16,000 births a year, offering a wealth of obstetric experience and intense learning. This period was not just about professional growth but also about cultural understanding, serving a diverse population of migrants and learning to understand the unique nuances of being a woman in the Middle East.
After Qatar, Dr Eman moved to New South Wales, where she did 2 years of intensive gynaecological training. She became a consultant in 2014.
Two years later, Dr Eman moved to Perth, where she joined Fiona Stanley Hospital. In 2023, she established her private women’s health practice in Perth.
Private practice, personal connections
In private practice, Dr Eman focuses on building lasting relationships with her patients. She wanted to move beyond emergency-only interactions, where patients might not even get to know her. Now, she enjoys being a familiar and trusted face to her patients, offering personalised care and creating strong, long-term connections.
Shaping future medics: Our contribution to medical academia
Dr Eman is passionate about teaching and nurturing the next generation of medical professionals. As an Adjunct Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle, she actively engages with medical students, shaping their educational journey. She also takes pride in mentoring junior doctors as they progress in their specialist training. She is involved in training of specialist trainees and works closely with Royal Australia and NZ College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology RANZCOG.
